OtherFilm has evolved out of the exploratory, experimental and deeply participatory atmosphere of the Brisbane underground art scene – within this context, we’ve tried to open up the magic of film, to help others engage with the unique qualities of this extraordinary medium.
In partnership with our many film friends, local and international, we've produced and facilitated workshops exploring handmade and direct film techniques, DIY darkroom practises, visual music, film sound and soundscape recording. These have taken place at OtherFilm Festival as well as Electrofringe and at institutions including SLQ, ANU, QCA, and QUT.
